Prior to forming Aperte Capital, John spent twelve years in equities trading and asset management. Most recently he managed over $10bn in international equities at BlackRock, where he was responsible for generating $30mm in alpha across a risk budget of over $200mm. At Barclays Global Investors, John had purview over a $150bn securities lending portfolio as part of a global trading team with coverage of US and international equities. John holds a MBA from the Haas School of Business and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Cognitive Science. He is a CFA charterholder.
